The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) 2023 Meeting in New York was a transformative event for Health Tech Without Borders (HTWB).

It gave us a unique opportunity to engage with global leaders, passionate individuals, and change leaders who share our commitment to addressing pressing global challenges.

Here's a closer look at our key takeaways from #CGI2023:

1. Addressing Urgent Global Issues:

Pope Francis and former President Bill Clinton set the tone for the conference with a resounding call to action. They emphasized that the world's most critical problems, particularly climate change and the well-being of children, require a collective response. Pope Francis stressed the importance of shared responsibility, highlighting that no challenge is insurmountable when approached collectively. The theme, "Keep Going," symbolized CGI's commitment to maintaining momentum in tackling these challenges.

2. Partners and Commitments:

CGI provided a unique platform for attendees to network with like-minded individuals, including celebrities, influencers, and colleagues, all striving to make a positive impact. CGI's history of securing commitments was underscored, with over 160 commitments made in 2023. The commitments included plans to tackle climate change, enhance health equity, contribute to inclusive economic growth, aid refugee resettlement, promote educational democratization, and many other inspiring initiatives.

During the event, three new focal points for CGI were introduced: the Ukraine Action Network, the Reproductive Justice Action Network, and a program dedicated to achieving 21st-century gender equality.

3. Health Tech Without Borders' Commitment:

HTWB Team made a significant commitment during the #CGI2023 meeting. Together with our partners, iDocta and VSee, HTWB pledged to increase access to healthcare in Cameroon through telemedicine. This initiative aims to support climate-affected refugees and remote, underserved regions with limited healthcare access. "Project VITAL" (Virtual International Telehealth and Leadership in Africa) is focused on improving healthcare access, strengthening health systems, and empowering communities through technology and innovation. This project aligns with HTWB's 3S pillars model, emphasizing sustainability, safety, and security in healthcare solutions.

4. Sharing Knowledge and Collaboration:

Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to share our mission as an innovation hub dedicated to increasing healthcare access. We also reaffirmed our commitment to supporting Ukraine by joining the CGI Ukraine Action Network. CGI provided an ideal platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, enabling us to exchange experiences and expertise with like-minded organizations passionate about making a positive impact.

Our experience at the Clinton Global Initiative 2023 Meeting in New York City was nothing short of transformative.

It reinforced our belief in the power of collective action to address global challenges. The event showcased impactful commitments, and provided a platform for HTWB and our partners to announce our initiatives and collaborate with others who share our dedication to creating a better world.

With shared responsibility and unwavering commitment, CGI reaffirmed its role as a driving force for positive change on a global scale, and we are proud to be a part of this remarkable journey.
